“Every day we’re saying, ‘How can we keep this customer happy? How can we get ahead in innovation by doing this?’ …because if we don’t, somebody else will.”

I have been asking myself recently what exactly the essence of writing is when I have no way to evaluate the effect my work has on readers. I want to make this very clear to anyone who may be reading my blog that I am not here for the purpose of just making content available on internet, I want to see reason to keep on doing what i do.

I just read an article about business tycoons all over the world such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Warrant Buffet, Lawrence Slim, Carlos Slim, Mukesh Ambani, Laxmi Mittal, They all consider consumer experience very Important and I DO TO.

However, I have come to a conclusion that the most thriving internet experience is the ‘dummy attitude’, its like we all are here to just read stuff, look at pictures, click the like button and go. I hate to envisage the type of future our world is headed at, we have no capacity to go out of our comfort to contribute meaningfully to what people say or do and we have totally turned the internet to a social mask where we practically stalk, family, friends, stars and we effectively make a mess of the world we are supposed to be building.

I have gone through some pains to have some close contact with bloggers like:

http://belifteddotme.wordpress.com
http://adichiebabz2.wordpress.com
http://pinichepkoech.wordpress.com
and two friend-bloggers whom I respect and hope to hear from on my blog:
http://ranchosblog.wordpress.com/
http://tomilolaakibo.wordpress.com/

These are African writers like myself, whom I hope with time we will all be reckoned with and our voices will be heard and not only will people read but your sensibility will be positively motivated into active participation in archiving the stories for the next generation. Tell me how you feel about my work.

WELL DONE DEAR JONATHAN… THANKS FOR THE APPRECIATION TOO… OH YES, YOU’VE THOUGHT WELL, THESE DAYS, MINDS ARE BEING ENVELOPED WRONGLY AND IT’S ONLY A PITY THAT IN THE END IF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED ARE EVER REMORSE IT’S EITHER TOO LATE OR HARD TO RE-CREATE ALTHOUGH THERE’S GRACE BUT IN ACTUAL SENSE; IT’S BETTER TO WALK EARLY IN GRACE THAN DANCE LONG IN IRRELEVANCE AND FACE ‘DISGRACE’ … I JUST WISH MANY RE-STRATEGIZE IN TIME SO AS TO FIND THEIR PREDESTINED PLACE AND KEEP UP THAT GREAT WORK IN THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT…

FUNNY HOW MANY ISOLATE THE SPIRITUAL FROM THE PHYSICAL; I ALSO WANT TO ADD THAT MOST OF THE THINGS ENABLING A TREE IN IT’S GROWTH IS MORE OF THE UNSEEN THAN THE SEEN! SO DEAR ONES; IF YOU ARE READING THIS, TAKE NOTE THAT YOUR ACTIONS BIRTH TWO THINGS; LIFE’S PARTITIONS OR LIFE’S CELEBRATIONS….

    IT’S UP TO YOU. 🙂

    MUCH LOVE BELIFTED.

Hi Jonathan, you are the first writer I have read that links social media to brain drain and rightly so. I totally resonate with you frustration of Social media. Personally I do not find it very social at all, I find that many people use it to waste time and show off among other things. In my experience facebook and other “social” media portals are better used as a fan page rather than a place to socialize and share personal information, choosing to use it like this enables aspiring bloggers and writers like you and I to enrich the experience of our audience.
