Kinds of Nigerian Husbands and Wives

The author never made it a source for racial prejudice or mockery towards any family setting but some very important fallacies of the Nigerian family could be arguably seen to be pure fantasies, the fact that Nigerian homes rarely get to court does not in any way make them disneyland.

Kinds of Nigerian Husbands

IGBO HUSBAND
loyal, He maintains monogamy, very yielding/gullible, Gives you access to all his assets, Follows your advice and directions to the letter, Spends money on you. However, unromantic-Romance is limited to spending money, spending money and spending money, May be semi-literate or illiterate, May marry you early and deny you of access to life/youth, More likely to be crude and unrefined, Always has a large family to cater to and take care of plus apprentices etc, May not be presentable, May be horrible in bed and/or sexually illiterate/unwillin g to explore.
#note: that this description begs the question “which of this qualities is enough reason to keep the family together#

YORUBA HUSBAND
Could be very romantic (needs proper investigation), Could be caring, Tries to maintain leadership(or tyranny?) in the home, Disciplines kids well (batters them?), More white-collar career inclined, Literacy level is usually high,

EDO HUSBAND

YORUBA WIFE

Plus

Very respectful to husband, Very respectful to in-laws, Most times educated, Yielding and submissive, Likes sex.

The article from which most of the assertive statements above are sourced could sound like it makes too many general statements but in all many of the points made depict dysfunctional family settings that would rarely involve truly shared friendship and companionship which should be the major purpose of marriage, lots of families end up as partners, co-tenants, shareholders, sex mates, anything but lovers. The big question is “what’s missing in Nigerian homes?” As many as read this article are encouraged to make comments because you could be helping someone mend their homes.
